Exhibits Committee Committee

Committee Purpose
The Exhibits Committee is responsible for:

  • Know and ensure exhibitor compliance with the basic rules and regulations about exhibits and exhibitors.
  • Know the layout of the exhibits.
  • Maintain rapport with the exhibitors by helping with any questions or complaints.
  • Be registered as fireguards by the Chicago Fire Department and assume added responsibilities such as touring the exhibit areas to identify fire hazards and work to remove them. As a fireguard, Committee members should know the location of all fire exits and fire hose cabinets.
  • Structure and Composition
    The Midwinter Meeting Exhibits Committee shall consist of six members.

    Annually, the CDS President Elect, Secretary and Vice-President shall appoint the Committee Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary, respectively, and each of these three CDS Officers shall appoint one additional member to the Committee.

    Time Commitment:

    Committee members must be available from the start of exhibit set-up (Usually 8:00 a.m. two days before the exhibits’ opening) until the exhibits close on the final day. The total time commitment is approximately five days.

    *Special Note: Appointments to this Committee require a full-time commitment, which precludes participation in the Midwinter Meeting Scientific Program, Special Events, and Tour Programs during the official meeting hours.
