June 23, 2023 Regional Meeting minutes

The Regional Meeting webinar of the Chicago Dental Society convened via Zoom June 23 at approximately 9 a.m. with Dr. John F. Moore, 2023 Midwinter Meeting General Chair, presiding.

Call to order:

Dr. Moore called the meeting to order at approximately 9:00 a.m.

Approval of minutes:

Dr. Moore announced that the minutes of the Wednesday, April 14, 2023, Regional Meeting had not yet been published and approval of the minutes would take place at the next in-person Regional Meeting in November.

Reports of the board and standing committees:

There were no reports of the Board or Standing Committees.

Reports of special committees:

There were no reports of Special Committees.

Unfinished business:

There was no Unfinished Business to report.

New business:

There was no New Business to report.

Announcements:

Dr. Moore announced the dates of the upcoming Regional Meetings, including a Regional Webinar via ZOOM on Friday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Brittany Frazier with a program on Financial Management. An on-demand recording of this webinar is available to all CDS members on the CDS website. He further reported that an in-person Regional Meeting would be held on Wednesday, November 8, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately noon at the Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook Terrace with Dr. Robert Goldberg, DDS, presenting an educational program on Endodontics.

Dr. Moore introduced Ms. Heather Nash, CMP, CAE, as the new CDS Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Nash then introduced herself and welcomed all to the CDS Regional Webinar.

A review of some items of housekeeping was conducted. Dr. Moore reminded everyone that with the program being a webinar that the microphone and individual camera would not be available. He encouraged everyone to type their questions in the Q&A tool on the screen that he monitored and assisted in fielding the questions to the presenter.

Dr. Moore then introduced Dr. Roy Shelburne, DDS, who presented a program entitled: Stop the Insanity by Doing Things Differently: 'Making Your Best Better.'"
