Sept. 29, 2023 Regional Meeting minutes

The Regional Meeting webinar of the Chicago Dental Society convened via Zoom Sept. 29 at approximately 9 a.m. with Dr. John F. Moore, 2023 Midwinter Meeting General Chair, presiding.

Call to order:

Dr. Moore called the meeting to order at approximately 9 a.m.

Reports of the board and standing committees:

There were no reports of the Board or Standing Committees.

Reports of special committees:

There were no reports of Special Committees.

Unfinished business:

There was no Unfinished Business to report.

New business:

There was no New Business to report.

Announcements:

Dr. Moore announced that the election of the 2024 CDS Officers would take place at the next in-person Regional Meeting on Wednesday, November 8, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately noon at the Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook Terrace. He also announced that approval of the minutes of the April 14, 2023, Regional Meeting as well as the June 23, 2023, Regional Meeting Webinar would take place at the Nov. 8 Regional Meeting.

Dr. Moore invited all to attend the Installation of CDS Officers and Directors to be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Westin Chicago Northwest Hotel. The Installation and Jubilarian Recognition Ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the Installation. Registration is required at on.cds.org/installation.

A review of some items of housekeeping was conducted. Dr. Moore reminded everyone that with the program being a webinar that the microphone and individual camera would not be available. He encouraged everyone to type their questions in the Q & A tool on the screen that he monitored and assisted in fielding the questions to the presenter.

Dr. Moore then introduced Brittany Frazier, CPA who presented a program entitled: “Financial Decisions Dentists Must Get Right: Flipping Uncertainty into Security.”
