Addressing Polypharmacy in our Practices

Course Description

This course is intended to cover the basics of patient care as it pertains to polypharmacy based on the patient's given information and the rest of the information that is often not revealed

Course Objectives

Attendees will be able to recognize and understand: 

  • What is “beyond” the health questionnaire? Recognizing Polypharmacy and Medically Complexity 
  • What is Polypharmacy and what are the major concerns regarding Polypharmacy? 
  • What is a Medically Complex patient? 

About the Speaker

Dr. Larry Williams is a professor at the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, Illinois since 2012. Prior to this, he served in the United States Navy Dental Corps from 1982 to 2012. He is Board Certified in the American Board of General Dentistry. He has completed two residencies to include a two-year hospital-based GPR and an advanced study of general dentistry. He has lectured widely on various topics to include geriatrics, opioids and pain management, local anesthesia, and vaping, tobacco and cannabis.
