Revised bylaws adopted in member vote
At the Nov. 8, 2024, CDS Regional Meeting, members voted to amend CDS's bylaws, providing a needed update to the governing document of the 160-year-old society.
The board, a six-member task force of CDS leaders and outside legal counsel collaborated to modernize the bylaws by bringing them into compliance with the Illinois Not for Profit Act and incorporating best practices for associations. The bylaws also allow for an open call for qualified candidates interested in running for elected leadership roles.
CDS thanks all members for their contributions and attention this year as the initiative progressed to a final vote.
