Open forum to precede Regional Meeting
The Chicago Dental Society Board of Directors is holding an open forum for members, which will be held one hour before the start of the Friday, Nov. 8, Regional Meeting. This will be an opportunity for members to voice their opinions on proposed revisions and to ask any questions regarding the restated and amended bylaws. Your voice as a CDS member is important to the CDS Board!
The open forum will be held from 8-8:45 a.m. on Nov. 8 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, 9300 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Rosemont, IL 60018 in the Paris Room.
The Board of Directors took action in January to review the bylaws based upon the recommendation of the CDS legal counsel that identified updates needed to bring CDS bylaws into legal compliance with the Illinois Not-for-Profit Act, best practices for associations and to modernize, so that CDS continues to serve its members and develop leaders for the future.
The revision of the Bylaws aims to strengthen member engagement and ensure an open, fair and inclusive process while preserving the important history that has made CDS the leading professional organization it is today. As the largest local component dental society in the United States, CDS represents more than 4,000 members.
Please take time to review the latest revision of the Restated and Amended Bylaws from October 24. A comprehensive FAQ document can also be read for further information. Find the revision here.
All CDS members are urged to participate in the upcoming vote at the Nov. 8 Regional Meeting to advance our organization, the Midwinter Meeting and the future of organized dentistry. Your member support is critical in providing the most inclusive and fair Society for all CDS members.
